Neighborhood Improvement Projects
Every year since 1993, community-wide volunteers use materials
donated by local businesses to paint and to spruce up the homes
of senior citizens, disabled persons, single-headed households,
and of other families who are experiencing financial hardship. Since
the year 2000, FNHS has celebrated Neighborworks week through Project
Paint.
Together with other NeighborWorks Organizations across the country,
beginning in 2000 Fairbanks NHS celebrated the positive changes
that programs of revitalization have brought to hundreds of American
neighborhoods. The theme of the week is "Transforming Communities
Together." NeighborWorks Week takes place in early June.
